The cards suggest that the relationship has a realistic chance of surviving the first few months apart. They do not show an effortless beginning, and they do not promise that affection alone will carry you through. The likely picture is of a bond that can adapt if both of you accept that the first stage will involve adjustment, uneven moods and some friction. The relationship appears more vulnerable to poor handling of daily strain than to a lack of feeling.
The Two of Pentacles captures the central difficulty. After the move, you may be trying to establish yourself in a new job, learn a new city, manage travel and still remain emotionally present at home. Your partner may also be adjusting to the absence of the ordinary contact you currently take for granted. Neither of you has to stop caring for tension to develop. It could arise simply because both lives continue moving, while the time available for the relationship becomes less natural and more deliberate.
The Nine of Swords shows that fear may become louder before there is evidence that anything is truly going wrong. You may worry that every disagreement is the beginning of the end, especially if you already feel guilty about choosing the job. What the cards do show is a climate in which anxiety can fill the gaps left by distance. This makes reassurance useful, but reassurance without practical follow-through may soon feel thin.
The clearest sign of change will be how you handle the first disappointment that cannot be fixed immediately.
The relationship seems most likely to survive if the effort remains balanced. You should not become the only person travelling, initiating contact, repairing misunderstandings or apologising for having accepted the opportunity. The same boundary applies in reverse. Each of you will need room to have difficult days without making the other responsible for every feeling created by the distance.

How to ask a question worth answering.
The reading is only as useful as the question underneath it. Two things help: name the actual situation, and ask about what you can do something with.
Will he come back?
A closed question with two possible answers, and the cards do not deal in sealed outcomes. Zorian will still read it, but you will get less from it.
We ended badly eight months ago and he has started messaging again. What is actually happening here, and what should I be watching for?
It gives the situation, the timing, and what you need to decide. That is a spread with somewhere to go.
I have been offered a role I did not apply for, and I keep finding reasons not to take it. What is behind the hesitation?
Questions about your own pattern tend to produce the readings people keep.
One question per reading. If you have two that are genuinely separate, book two - they are read differently, and folding them together weakens both.
